Beannachtai na Feile ar 'La le Padraig do chlann Ui Treasaigh!
A happy St. Patrick's Day to you, Erma Jean, and all the Tracys.
We said a prayer for his noble and great soul at Mass this morning and treasured fond memories of am unforgettable few days over St. Patrick's Day in Great Falls, Montana, and the Charlie Russell auction all those years ago.

Have to report to you that the weather over the Emerald Isle was beautiful and spring-link, with no bother anywhere. Why, even Rev. Ian Paisley is calling for St. Patrick's Day to be a public holiday in the North!

Tom is in Heaven with his arm around St. Patrick and smiling down.

  Happy ST. Patricks Day Tom,
I think of you often.
And often realize now the lessons I learned from you. And how I never even knew you were teaching me.
Lessons I hope I am passing on in a quiet, gentle way as you did.
I will say a prayer for you and your family over cabbage and brisket tonight.
Hello also to Cydi.
Thank you for everything.
I miss you.

Although Tom has been with our Father in Heaven for some time, I only found out about his "passing" last night when I searched "GPD" and followed the links to his obituary in the Orange County Register, but I have thought of him many times and wondered what he was doing. He was and is a wonderful person who lived life and cared about others during his earthly journey.

I prayed for his family a lot last night and asked the Lord to say hello to Tom for me and tell him that I look forward to seeing him sometime in the future. God bless his family and us all! 4pfarm@ecarthage.com

I worked for GPD, in the City of Industry, from 1970 untill 1974, in various capacities starting as sales order clerk, advancing to branch office manager and then to become the warranty administrator for the west coast. I worked with Tom frequently and enjoyed his friendship. He and I had something between us that he didn't really have with many others and that was total honesty. Others were in awe of him, being Emmitt's son and rep on the west coast but somehow we rose above that. He was a character!

The first time I met him, he was sitting on the warehouse floor counting boxes of remanufactured brakeshoes, with his suit on! I can still see that in my mind.

Another thing that comes to mind is the time he rushed into my office to show me his latest toy, that he planned on taking to our annual sales meeting: it was one of the first portable calculators, just smaller than "War and peace," that could add, multiply, subtract and divide and most importantly, could do percentages. I remember that he gave me the bill to pay and it was $1,000

  Tom:
The geese are moving through.
Think of you often and smile everytime I see a large formation of geese heading north again.
Miss you often.

  Dear Tom,
I know that Father,s Day has passed but I do think of you often. I sure do miss you and I sometimes hear your voice in my head. I was sick for a while and i remember asking for your prayers and it helped. I feel a lot better now. How are you doing up there. I am sure you are enjoying the company of our friend JESUS. Please say Hi to HIM for me. Happy Fathers Day to both of you.

I worked at GPD in the mid to late 80's and I learned from Tom how to be completely in tune with your work force and never be above rolling up your sleeves and getting down and dirty right along side your workers. Everyone loved Tom, and you can respect a man worth a fortune when he has his shirt tails hanging out and sweat stains under his arms while he busts arse right along side you. He loved the warehouse and would be out there every chance he got. He loved to re-arrange the warehouse whenever he felt like it. He was an employee man first and a management man second. Anyone caught talking smack about Tom was likely to fall off the dock, by accident of course. He had the kind of reputation that I want to have with my employees. God Bless Tom. I only found out about his passing when reliving some funny warehouse stories to one of my employees and Google-ing him to find out what was up at GPD.
